Engaging Research-Ambitious Teachers

12 December 2016

With the increasing emphasis on research as the basis of effective pedagogy, staff at Hong Kong’s privately funded educational institutions are ramping up their efforts to benefit from the Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local Self-financing Degree Sector. As part of a related series of seminars, AH Editing visited the Caritas Institute of Higher Education’s Tseung Kwan O campus on 24 November to discuss ways of writing research proposals with exceptional impact.

In a lively presentation spanning 90 minutes, our long-serving Chief Editor Dr Mike Poole highlighted ways of showing that potential projects matter. Focusing on the 3Cs of being convincing, clear and coherent, he worked through the structure of a typical proposal, addressing common problems and detailing ways of overcoming them.
