Welcome to AsiaEdit! These Terms of Service govern your use of our website (asiaedit.com) and the services we offer. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Order Confirmation, Delivery, and Receipts

1.1. Turnaround Time: The turnaround time for our services begins from the date the payment is made and proof of payment is shared with AsiaEdit (date of sharing payment proof = day 0). For example, if you’ve selected a 4-day turnaround option on June 1 and proof of payment is shared on June 3, the delivery date will be June 7.

1.2. Delivery of Services: Your service documents (e.g., edited/translated files, journal recommendation report) will be delivered to you at the email address provided at the time of order confirmation on or before 23:59 (11:59 pm) on the delivery date as described above.

1.3. Accounting Working Hours: Our accounting working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm HK time, except Hong Kong Public Holidays. Payments made outside of our accounting working hours may be verified the following working day, which may delay the issuance of your receipt.

2. Cancellation Policy

2.1. Non-Cancelable Orders: Orders assigned to editors, translators, or other relevant service experts cannot be canceled.

2.2. Incorrect File Submission: If you have submitted an incorrect version of a file, please email us at cs@asiaedit.com as soon as you discover the error. We will make our best effort to stop the work and bill you only for the work already completed while you rectify the issue on your end. Due to time zone differences, immediate cessation of work may not be possible.

3. Rework and Refund Policy

3.1. Editing Services: If a manuscript remains unaltered after our editing but is rejected by a journal on English language grounds alone, we will provide a re-edit free of charge. No refunds are offered.

3.2. Journal Recommendation Service: If you get desk-rejected by a recommended journal due to a mismatch between the manuscript and the journal’s scope, we will refund 100% of your service fees.

3.3. Translation Services:

3. 3. 1. Chinese to English Translation: If a manuscript remains unaltered after our editing but is rejected by a journal on English language grounds alone, we will provide a re-edit free of charge. No refunds are offered.

      2. English to Chinese Translation: We will work with you to improve the translation should you be dissatisfied. No refunds are offered.

4. Failed Delivery and Delays

4.1. Customer-Side Issues: Failed deliveries due to issues outside of AsiaEdit’s control (e.g., customer inbox is full or customer’s email service provider is down) will not be compensated. You may request a re-delivery free of charge once the issue is resolved.

4.2. AsiaEdit-Side Delays: In the unlikely event of a delay caused by AsiaEdit (e.g., the editor falling ill), we will inform you as soon as we are aware we cannot meet your deadline. You are entitled to the difference in service fees between your chosen turnaround date and the actual delivery date upon request. If you’ve chosen our slowest turnaround option, you are entitled to a 10% reduction in your invoiced amount for every 24 hours of delay. Partial refund claims must be requested within 7 working days of the original delivery date.

5. Use of the Website

5.1. Eligibility: By using our website, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement.

5.2. Prohibited Activities: You agree not to use the website in any way that could damage the website, the services, or the general business of AsiaEdit.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1. Ownership: All content provided on the website are the intellectual property of AsiaEdit. You may not reuse, republish, or reprint such content without our written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1. No Liability for Errors: AsiaEdit shall not be held liable for any errors or omissions in the content of the website or the services provided. You agree to use the services at your own risk.

7.2. No Indirect Damages: In no event shall AsiaEdit be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the website or the services.

8. Governing Law

8.1. Jurisdiction: These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
