Along with everyone in Hong Kong and beyond, we’ve been shocked and distressed by the scale and devastation of the recent Wang Fuk Court fire. Hong Kong for us is home; some of us born and raised here, and myself resident since 1985!

Like many, we’ve personally given to the various relief efforts. But we all felt we wanted to do more, so we’re running a festive charity drive – until the end of Chinese New Year, 23^rd February 2026, we’re donating HK$100 of our fee for every paper, proposal or thesis editing project that you send us.

The funds raised will be donated to the Yan Chai Emergency Assistance Relief Fund Support, which guarantees that 100% of all donations will be used directly to support residents affected by the Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po, with no deduction for administrative expenses.

The needs of the survivors are varied, and this is reflected in the planned uses for donations:

– Funeral Assistance: Assisting families in coping with the sudden burial expenses or dealing with related issues.
– Financial Aid: Providing housing and living subsidies.
– Emotional Support: Professional counselling and support, including hotline services provided by clinical psychologists, social workers, and counsellors.
– Medical Services: Offering traditional Chinese, Western Medicine and dental care.
– Household Equipment Subsidy: Funding for the purchase of essential furniture, appliances, and daily necessities, etc.
– Elderly Care: Outreach, personal care services and allowances for caregivers.
– Childcare Services: Daycare, after-school care, and homework guidance services.

Please join us over this Christmas and New Year and help us raise as much as possible. We’ll report the total amount raised and announce the donation immediately at the end of the period. Do let us know if you have any comments or questions.
