Sara graduated with a BA (Linguistics) and a BSc (Psychology) from the University of Melbourne. Her PhD focused on child language acquisition in Sherpa, a language spoken in the Himalayas of Nepal. She has been an academic editor for 6 years, combining the editing work with writing and teaching English. She especially enjoys helping academics communicate their work to a general audience.

Sara is based in Medellín, Colombia. She spends her spare time teaching and practising Kyokushin karate, learning new languages, and cleaning up the trail of destruction left by a baby and two kittens.
