Santhosh grew up in Calcutta and now lives in Kochi, Kerala. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy. After working in information technology for many years (marketing, teaching programming, heading the IT department of a textile mill), he switched to academic copyediting in 2004 and has never looked back.

Santhosh has won prizes in open chess tournaments and was awarded the title of Correspondence Chess International Master (CCIM) by the International Correspondence Chess Federation in 2002. He loves reading nonfiction (The Ten Types of Human is what he’s reading currently) and can often be found outside photographing birds, insects, and wild flowers.
