David graduated with a First Class Honors degree in English Literature from Trinity College, Dublin and went on to receive his Ph.D., also in English Literature, from Harvard University. He also spent a year as a Fulbright Scholar at Boston College studying linguistics and a year as a Chinese Government Scholar at Tsinghua University studying Chinese.
During his graduate studies, David served as a Teaching Fellow in a wide range of courses in the Humanities at Harvard. During the summers, he crossed the Charles River to serve as a Research Associate in the Organizational Behavior Unit at Harvard Business School. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Asia Quarterly, a graduate student journal of current affairs.
After several years based in Beijing as a Research Fellow with a focus on political and military affairs in China and North Korea at a European think tank, David relocated to Vienna, Austria, where he currently works as a freelance editor. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time in Vienna’s museums and hiking.
