After completing a bachelor’s in Mathematics and a master’s in Computer Science from the Chennai Mathematical Institute, India, Jayant left for the island of Madeira in Portugal to work as a research assistant. The change in cultural setting had a transformational effect on his perspective of life, and he became fascinated with human psychology and identity. There, he obtained a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction in which he explored the intersection of Psychology, Social Science and the use of technology. After a brief stint as a research fellow following his PhD, he became an editor, helping researchers across a wide range of fields improve their writing and learning more about the world through their work.
In his personal life, he finds human relationships to be meaningful yet highly challenging, and is interested in practising conscious communication approaches such as non-violent communication, as he aspires to be a better human to his fellow humans. While he is still a toddler in this regard, he believes that he is making gradual progress.
